Okay. Do I have a treat for you!  My daughters love ice cream and popsicles.  I know, what kid doesn’t?  My youngest daughter loves ice cream so much that she actually thinks her middle name should be strawberry ice cream.  Anyways, I wanted to incorporate their two loves of ice cream and popsicles and make them into fun and cute necklaces that they could actually wear.

Here’s What You Need:

  • Wool Felt (You could use any type though.)
  • Needle
  • Thread (Sewing Machine Optional)
  • Eyelet Kit
  • Hammer
  • Tiny Hole Punch (Optional)
  • Chain Necklace

FELT ICE CREAM CONE AND POSICLE TEMPLATE

Begin by downloading and printing out the template…

Next, cut out your pieces of Felt.  Now it’s time to sew. Sew the ice cream cone first or the popsicle stick depending on which one you’re making. Once that part is done, finish by sandwiching the cone or stick between the two top pieces and sew them in place.

Now that you’re finished sewing them, it’s time to insert the eyelet. Start by punching a hole where you want the eyelet to be located. Insert the eyelet through your punched hole. Use a hammer to gently pound and flatten the eyelet with the eyelet tool. I did this on top of a piece of wood so that it would help keep the eyelets from getting too flat.

That’s it. Very straight forward and they are pretty quick to make. Just thread your chain through the eyelet and put them on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What material is used for Popsicle necklaces?

Popsicle necklaces are usually made out of plastic or rubber, and they often come in the form of a loop that can be attached to a necklace or bracelet. They are popular among children and teens because they are cheap and easy to make.

What is the best material for popsicle molds?

Popsicle molds are a popular way for children to enjoy cool treats, and the best material for them depends on your child’s age and what types of popsicles you would like to make. For younger kids, silicone is often recommended as it is non-toxic, flexible, and doesn’t degrade over time. As your child gets older and starts wearing more makeup or playing with harsher chemicals at home, however, silicone may not be the best choice anymore.
PVC plastic is another popular option because it has high impact resistance (meaning that it won’t break when frozen), resists moisture absorption (which can lead to mold growth), withstands temperatures up to 130°F (~54°C), and yellowing due to exposure to sunlight (a common problem with silicon). It also has a relatively low melting point so you don’t haveto worry about accidents during decorating or cooling down your molds after use.
Ultimately, whichever material you choose should depend on how much abuse your pop Mold will likely take – Silicone will typically last longer but PVC plastic might be easier/cleaner in general.

How are popsicles made step by step?

Making popsicles is a simple process that starts with freezing fruit juice or water in ice cube trays. Once the cubes are frozen, you can remove them and place them into plastic bags. Then, you will need to add a flavoring such as sugar or artificial sweetener, salt, and lemon juice. You can also choose to put your popsicles in molds if desired.
When everything is mixed together, you will pour the mixture into the molds and freeze for several hours until they are solidified. Finally, remove from the mold and enjoy! Popsicles are easy to make – all you have to do is follow these steps carefully and be creative with your flavors!
