Tulip has recently come out with a new line called Tulip For Your Home. This is a great line of products, that are wonderfully easy to use to update any part of your Home’s decor in no time flat. I knew instantly that I wanted to update the look of my daughters room and give it a little more character & a finished look. We recently moved this summer and her small bedroom was in desperate need of a few extra loving touches.
DIY Bedroom Decor and Tulip
My daughter had a lot of wall space that needed to be broken up. With her bed and bookshelf all being on the same wall, there needed to be a focal point. So, The first thing I started with was creating a trio of canvases to go above her bed.
Supplies That You Need:
- Tulip 8″ Floral Stencil
- Tulip Paint Roller
- Tulip Stencil Spray Adhesive
- (3) Canvases 12″ x 12″
- (2) Paints (Make sure there is enough contrast between the two different colored paints.)
- Foam Brush
- Paper Plate
Step 1: Begin by using the foam brush and applying a base coat of paint to all three canvases. Apply 2 to 3 coats of paint and let the canvases dry between each coat.
Step 2: Take the spray adhesive and spray the BACK of the flower stencil.
Step 3: Center the flower stencil on the canvas. To make sure the stencil is securely in place, run your hands over the stencil and smooth it down a couple of times. Using the Tulip foam roller, roll the second (darker) paint color onto the stencil. Keep rolling until all of the stencil area is covered evenly. To ensure all areas are covered, roll in different directions. Carefully peel and remove the stencil. Then, let the paint dry thoroughly.
Next, I decided to make an accent pillow for daughters bedroom. Tulip has awesome pre-sewn canvas pillow cases that are ready to use with their stencils. See how easy it is to customize any room in your house? This was a perfect solution because I needed a quick update and I didn’t want to have to do any sewing.

- Tulip Soft Fabric Paint
- Tulip 14″ Polka Dot Stencil
- Tulip Spray Adhesive
- Tulip Foam Roller
- Foam Paint Brush
- Paper Plate
Follow the same steps as listed in the project above for adhering the stencil. I found the spray adhesive works great on the canvas pillowcase fabric too. Honestly, I made this pillow in about 20 minutes. It was so easy. And, because I really loved the look of the polka dots and how well they turned out, I created a dish towel for my kitchen too. I couldn’t have ALL of the cute stuff in just my daughter’s room
