A little know fact about me is that once upon a time I had nine rabbits.  Yes, nine!  It was a lot. And ever since then I’ve had a love for rabbits.  I decided I needed some cute rabbit art  since with Easter coming up, it’s the perfect time of year.  This tutorial is for an easy DIY Easter Bunny Art that you can create quickly. DIY Easter Bunny Art

Supplies

  • 18″ x 24″ Linen Canvas (They have these at Michael’s right now.)
  • Rabbit Template (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)
  • Pencil
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Yarn
  • Pom Pom Maker

Directions

Step 1:  Print all 3 parts of the template and use the match lines to tape it together. Cut the bunny out.

Step 2:  Place the template onto the canvas and trace around it lightly with a pencil.

Step 3:  Paint the rabbit with white acrylic paint and let it dry.

Step 4:  Create a pom pom for the tail using white yarn.  You can use a pom pom maker or a piece of cardboard.  Make sure your pom pom is large enough for your stenciled bunny.

I love everything about this rabbit.  I think I love the pom pom tail most of all.

This really is simple and fast to create.  It will be one of those decorations that you will hang onto for a very long time.  I know I won’t be parting with mine any time soon.

Have fun creating your DIY Bunny Art!

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Easter Bunny represent?

The Easter bunny’s precise beginnings are shrouded in secrecy. According to one belief, the rabbit represents fertility and comes from paganism, notably from the festival of Eostre, whose animal representation was a bunny. Due to their vigorous breeding, rabbits have historically represented fertility.

What is the Easter Bunny’s first name?

A rabbit known as the Easter Bunny brings gifts and eggs to kids on Easter. Similar to the customs surrounding Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, this one has a very long history. Similar to how Santa’s real name is either Saint Nicholas or Kris Kringle, he goes by Peter Cottontail.

What is the symbol of Easter?

According to legend, German immigrants who brought their tales of an egg-laying hare to America were responsible for introducing the Easter rabbit, the most well-known secular symbol of the Christian holiday.
