I am so excited to our breakfast nook makeover! We moved here to our forever home just over two years ago, and making over the dining area from bland and blah to bright and cheery has been on my to-do list. With proper coverings, they won’t have to look into our window to see our mess in the playroom. As for us, we will no longer have to look at our garbage cans while we’re eating. Not very appetizing.

To truly transform the space, I plan to upholster the chair seats myself. A durable fabric is essential for daily use. I might even add some back cushions or throw pillows to make it extra cozy. If I had a built-in banquette or bench, I would definitely consider adding drawer storage underneath for smart storage.
For the floor, a washable rug under the dining table helps define the space within the rest of the kitchen. And maybe some wallpaper on an accent wall to bring in some chic texture? The possibilities for a diy design are endless! I’m gathering lots of inspiration from Pinterest.
